Publisher's Synopsis
Dr. Amin Jaafari, an Israeli Arab, is a respected surgeon at a hospital in Tel Aviv. On the night of a bombing in a local restaurant, he works tirelessly to help patients brought to the emergency room. But he is horrified when his wife's body is found among the dead, her injuries typical of those of a suicide bomber. As evidence mounts that his wife, Sihem, was responsible for the bombing, Dr. Jaafari is torn between memories of their years together and the realisation that the woman he loved had a life far removed from their comfortable, assimilated existence together.
