Publisher's Synopsis
The central theme of this book is how to deal with people while working in the Hotel, restaurant and hospitality industry. Dealing with irritable, tired, and hungry people can be like sleepwalking into a nightmare. With the right techniques and proper attitude, calming people down and helping them relax, can be managed with ease. Over a twenty-year or so period of time I have had the pleasure of working in all types of high-end hotels, restaurants, and hospitality industries. I also have a background in various sales and customer service positions. I would like to share this information so that a younger person new to the industry can excel and have a productive and lucrative career. I believe it will also serve as a good training tool for younger workers and new managers, which could be applied to many different professional fields. Another goal of the book is to motivate you so you can earn more money. It could also help new owners improve their business and maximize their profits.
People often use the term "Common Sense". As per my observations, common sense isn't so common now a days. I have included simple tips on how to accomplish basic tasks to help you do your job more efficiently and more dynamically.
I have also included a series of antidotes and funny stories that happened on the job to enable the reader understand these concepts. This should help prepare you for any type of difficult situation and how to handle yourself. Dealing with people can be an art form all to itself. The stories were included to help the reader put things in perspective and have a few laughs. The names of certain people, places and things have been changed to protect the "NON-INNOCENT". I hope you enjoy it.
