For the avoidance of misconception with so many Churches prefixed with the name "Apostolic," this book is about The Apostolic Faith Church in West and Central Africa, headquartered in Anthony Village, Lagos, Nigeria. The global headquarters is Apostolic Faith Church, Portland, Oregon, USA. It was founded in 1907, as Apostolic Faith Mission, by Florence L. Crawford.The point of conflict is what a Christian to do when faced with health challenges. There are two extremes of choices. The first is to only pray and trust in God, one does not need medicines or doctors. Second, one only needs medicines and doctors; he or she does not need to pray. This book teaches that both extremes are to be avoided.However, the Apostolic Faith Church teaches implicitly or explicitly, that it is a sin to go to a doctor, or at least that for a Christian it betrays a lack of faith in God. The pressure resulting from such indoctrination has caused some members to refuse medical treatment for their children and/or themselves, with fatal consequences.This prompted an official investigation into Church doctrine at the headquarters in Portland, Oregon, USA. The result of the investigation yielded a powerful 5-page eye-opening letter that everyone should read. The letter is reproduced verbatim as part of this book.
