Excerpt from The Annual Monitor for 1848: Or Obituary of the Members of the Society of Friends in Great Britain and Ireland, for the Year 1847
Q'kpref'atory remarks. The number of deaths re firted in this years' Obituary, exceeds by 41 that 6 any previous year in the present series; and the amount of matter communicated relative to the departed, is 150 much larger than usual, that we have been unable, without an extent of curtail ment which we believe would have been unsatis factory to our readers, to confine ourselves within the usual quantity of letter-press. The previous numbers of the work contained four, whilst the present one includes the sheets. As we do not apprehend that such a circumstance is likely soon to occur again, we present this additional sheet to our readers without any extra charge.
