Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The Annual Monitor for 1845: Or Obituary of the Members of the Society of Friends in Great Britain and Ireland, for the Year 1844

IN issuing the third number of the New Series of the Annual Monitor, the Editors have again to acknowledge the very kind attention of their numerous friends, in supplying them with the information required for the work.

The Obituary of the present year, is, they believe, as nearly correct as it can be expected 42) be: they have no reason to believe that there a: e any omissions. Being, however, desirous of giving as nearly as possible an exact return of the deaths which have taken place in the Society within twelve months, they have not inserted those that have been reported to them which have occurred after the period prescribed, viz., the end of the Ninth month; and they intend in future to make this their general rule.

The number of memorials in connexion with the Obituary which it appeared desirable should be inserted, has greatly exceeded the usual amount, and has not left room for any additional articles.
