Publisher's Synopsis
Catrina's at it again. This time she's pairing up her friend, Halo, a recently widowed thirty-something mother with five kids, and Hank, a dairyman who's never been married. In addition, she's barely five feet tall while he measures six foot, seven inches.
Halo needs a fresh start and yearns for the homesteading lifestyle of gardening, raising chickens, and milking a cow. Hank owns the dairy across the street from Halo's property. She buys a cow from him, and he teaches her how to milk. When her baby chicks are killed by a predator, he buys full-grown egg layers and builds her a beautiful new chicken coop. Her kids adore him, but Halo remains unconvinced of his motives until she catches a bad flu bug and Hank volunteers to care for her children.
The two older boys love helping Hank with his garden and they enter his pumpkins in the county fair. Hank takes Halo and her kids to the fair and by the end of the adventure, they realize they're in love. The next day, Halo is surprised to find an engagement ring in her bucket of milk.
