Dr. James Burch Joyce, 72, died May 21 in Baltimore. Dr. Joyce was a graduate of St. Johns College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore branch. He retired from practice a number of years ago.

Dr. Franklin Byers Bomberger, '94, coordinator of marketing work at the Uni versity of Maryland and one of the pioneers of Maryland cooperative marketing, died in a \vashington hospital May 18. He became professor of English and Physics at the University in 1900 and held that position until 1914; from that year until 1917 he was professor of Political Science and His tory; from 1917 to 1930 he was assistant director of the University of Maryland Extension Service. He was 68 years old.
