Publisher's Synopsis

Back in Africa in the early days of no electricity, no Television, Radio and Computer as we have everywhere now, our grandparents were known for gathering young children around them, usually under a big tree which marked the meeting point in family compound, for stories which we know today as bedtime stories. It was not unusual to see children from 3 to 4 houses away gathering around these storytellers, who have seen a lot of days in their lives and have bagful of stories passed down from their own long gone grandparents to dish out to 'hungry' children before they retire to sleep in their houses around the arcade. These stories were told to children, and they were usually to teach moral lessons. Stories were spiced with songs, poems, riddles and jokes to add to the already excitement-charged atmosphere around them. All these were to make the young ones understand and appreciate good values of life as they grew up. With the advent of technology everywhere, it is hard to see such today, especially for children growing up in developed countries. This story book is inspired by the desire to impact the method of good life value teachings in the young ones growing up in the hype world where both parents are at work all day, grandparents living separate lives and leaving the kids to be brought up by their teachers and cartoon stations all day. If parents can spare 30 minutes of their time at night to read these stories to their children before they go to sleep, then the good work is done.
