The Freedom March is the second book in The Adventures of Aleia series. It tells the story of Aleia's compassion and kindness towards others, as well as her commitment to social justice. One day, when Aleia is volunteering in downtown Seattle, she hears a loud roar, and turns the corner to see a crowd of thousands marching towards the Space Needle. Aleia is curious about all the people, so she decides to march along and ask the marchers about why they are there. They have quite a lot to say. The march is momentarily interrupted by some angry people, but Aleia is able to use her emotional intelligence to reach one of them whose name is John. John eventually comes around to understanding the purpose of the march, and goes to the rally under the Space Needle, led by none other than Bernie Sanders! This book will inspire young readers, and also create the basis for discussion of events going on in our world today.
