Publisher's Synopsis
During the Napoleonic retreat in 1812, a group of French soldiers and Cossacks storm a castle. Sonia Von Hugel witnesses the destruction of her family and is left terrified and alone. Disguising herself as a young boy, she flees and meets an enigmatic character by the name of Charles Vincent.
