The third volume, The Acts of the Apostles, now presented in English form, is if anything more remarkable than its predecessors. In it Professor Harnack develops the position which he has estab lished in Luke the Physician, and subjects the Acts of the Apostles to a most searching investiga tion from almost all possible points of View. A very pleasing feature of this series of studies is the high esteem in which the author holds the researches of dis tinguished English scholars, such as Sir John Hawkins, Dr. Plummer, and Dr. Hobart.
