Publisher's Synopsis
The Phoenix - the woman responsible for bringing Mankind to the brink of extinction, for enslaving what remained for a thousand years, who breached another dimension and brought forth hordes of unnatural creatures, and who has been thought vanquished for a millennium, has risen from her ashes and the drums of war have begun to beat once more. Merlin must move quickly if he's to help unite the lands under one banner before the Phoenix's hordes descend and lay waste to the world once more. Rounding up an unlikely band of heroes, he goes in search of Excalibur, the Sword of Kings, in hopes that in the hands of its rightful heir, it can be the light that guides them all through the oncoming darkness. For only Excalibur can destroy the Book of the Dead and end the Phoenix's reign forever.
