Publisher's Synopsis

The life of Shomari Abasi, formerly known as Jonah Stapleton, as told by himself. Having survived the Civil War, Shomari returns home to New York and his family. While trying to settle in on a new life, one that he has fought for, but not lived, he opens a bank. Still, his restlessness is growing, which leads him to re-enlist in the army. He is stationed in the West, participating in the Indian campaigns to move the Indians onto reservations. In his quest he finds and defeats an old enemy, Robert Quantrill. In the process, he fines a new enemy in the Black Indian Chief, Thunder Horse, who is vicious and ruthless, with no regard for human life. Shomari is on his trail, as he has to juggle to army brass, namely Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer who wants to to exterminate the Indians. After the battle of Little Big Horn, Shomari returns home to his family. He ventures off into business as well as politics, but the journey is never easy. He is determined to ensure the legacy of the Abasi bloodline.
