The third International progress report on environmental reporting ranks 100 of the latest corporate environmental reports against the sustainability/UNEP five-stage benchmark model. For the first time, there is a focus on performance by sector. The survey covers 16 sectors and the report highlights "star" companies from five of these: the automobile, chemical, oil, pharmaceutical and retail industries. The report concludes with 12 recommendations for companies, industry associations and governments on how to improve environmental and sustainability reporting.
