Publisher's Synopsis

Authors Ted Peck and Ed Rychkun cut through the mystique and complexity surrounding fly fishing and come up with the twelve basic skills needed to understand and enjoy the engrossing art of fly fishing. Ted Peck has been hooked on fishing for more than sixty years, giving him lots of time to develop and hone the essential techniques of fly fishing. Here he presents a breakdown of fly fishing basics for the beginner. Covering topics such as the selection of equipment, holding a fly rod, mastering the roll cast, stripping the line, handling and landing fish- this book covers everything the beginner needs to know.

Ted became a professional sports fisherman in 1956, and over the years he has written numerous articles on fishing. He ran a charter boat company out of West Vancouver and treated more than 10,000 customers to a West Coast fishing experience. The former host of the national fishing show Tides and Trails, as well as several radio talk shows, Peck now teaches night school, sharing his appreciation of and respect for the environment with new generations of fishermen.

Ed Rychkun has authored a number of Hancock House books that explore fishing and other recreational pursuits. An active and dedicated fisherman, Ed has fished local waters for more than thirty-five years.
