It's never nice to hear that your horse needs box rest. There's the worry about whatever injury or illness led to the box rest in the first place, figuring out how you're going to find the extra time to manage your horse, not knowing how well your horse will recover, and / or the worry of how well he'll cope, amongst other things. It's important to follow your vet's advice, and if you're really struggling with box rest for whatever reason, to discuss other options with your vet, rather than just give up and turn him out anyway
