Sam Callow is one such victim. And these are his stories. Temporary Detective is a collection of modern noir stories revolving around Sam Callow and his temp assignment at The Nick Drake Detective Agency. Sam utilizes his vast network of temp friends to solve a vast array of mysteries he encounters when he unexpectedly takes his temp assignment to heart. And like in any reasonable noir scenario, Sam will inadvertently become entangled in complex webs of murder, intrigue, sultry dames, politicians as crooked as a broken finger, and even well-chilled ghosts from days gone past.
