Publisher's Synopsis
Having uncovered the keys to an ancient monument on the distant planet of Ipri-Axis, Professor Michael Henniker also finds the conduit that connects it with the Earth. He inadvertently finds himself the guest of Ipri's Guardian Priesthood who hail his appearance as a sign that God has forgiven them for their past indiscretions. Confident he can reopen the structure, he begins work decrypting the keys without thinking to ask why they were originally hidden so far from their homeworld. In this, part 2 of the Ipri-Axis series, the Priesthood comes to appreciate they are not the only ones with a vested interested in having the human open the temple. Hy-Rapthean physicists are forced to reveal their presence after two more humans follow Michael, one of whom is abducted by rival priests. As rumours grow of a cosmic cataclysm caused by the sabotage of an experiment to reproduce a miniature version of the Big Bang in deep space, Ipri-Axis divides between those who begin to fear the Temple's legendary Oracle might not, in fact, be the benign servant the Priesthood maintains, but rather something still very much alive and with its own agenda. Amidst growing political tensions, Professor Henniker finally decrypted the first of three keys and initiates the opening. But as the Temple begins to reveal its secrets, what they find generates more unwelcome questions than answers.
