Tears Upon the Rose is a story about 17th century Ireland. It is the tale of 18 year-old Robert DeLacey and 16 year-old Mary Margaret O'Carroll, who love despite the religious and cultural chasms that separate them. Robert contends with Cormac O'Brien, an Irish chieftain who, during Ireland's rebellion against England, rises to lead the defense of Drogheda against Oliver Cromwell's invading forces.
