The Diamond Sutra is a Mahayana (Buddhist) sutra from the Prajñaparamita sutras or 'Perfection of Wisdom' genre. Translated into a variety of languages over a broad geographic range, the Diamond Sutra is one of the most influential Mahayana sutras in East Asia, and is particularly prominent within the Chan (or Zen) tradition, along with the Heart Sutra. The author, Hsing Yun is a Chinese Buddhist monk. He is the founder of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order as well as the affiliated Buddha's Light International Association in Taiwan. This book abandons the traditional sentence-by-sentence explanation, and run through the structure of the whole scripture from a macro perspective.
