This book contains six short stories written by Elgin J. Dobbins; Miracle City, Stranger In My House, The Bad Man, Gold-Platted E-Mails, An Impossible Feat, and Second Chance. They are stories of the unexplained and are written in a way that will inspire each reader. These stories are to some believable, and yet to others unbelievable. Each story is carefully crafted around central characters that for one reason or another are well meaning but become entangled in webs of intrigue or mysterious happenings. The descriptions in each story are rich and vibrant, activating the reader's imagination and painting a mosaic in the mind's eye. The unexplained elements of each tale are blended well into these contemporary examples of personal courage and laudable human life journeys. Each story has its own appeal. One spans the centuries moving from present day to the past and back again. Another will place you in the middle of a life or death situation that is like taking a deadly emotional rollercoaster ride. Still another will take you to the realm of hopelessness to let you experience what it is like to reach the end of the line as we know it and cross over into the abyss of dead dreams and lifeless ambitions. One or two may keep the reader confused about what is happening until close to the end, as is their purpose.
