Publisher's Synopsis

A collection of unusual ghost stories told in a traditional way
Tales Of The Disaffected is a collection of short stories that often start out quite lightly, but quickly turn as dark as the slate-grey skies of a summer storm. Scratch the surface and you will find the base metal beneath the gold, or - in more than one case - the blood beneath the skin. Under the placid waters of normality lie the rocks of insanity, and nobody wants to be wrecked there...From tall tales of desperate smugglers, newly escaped convicts and even time travel, this anthology of historical fiction will take you to the murky side of humanity.
Have you ever wondered what lies within the rugged hill beneath the ruined castle? And what of that unexplained, unassuming grassy mound in the corner of a farmer's fallow field? If you enjoy fiction based in truth, with a smattering of local British legends thrown in for good measure, then this book is definitely for you. Although readers of a nervous disposition may wish to look away...

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Kevin has long been interested in the paranormal, and what happens if life is given a slight twist by something outside our human control. As a child his wish to join the RAF diminished when he realised that they did not fly spitfires any more, but his interest in vintage aircraft and birds remains as strong as ever. He has always felt an affinity with 18th century Britain, and likes to think he would fit in should there ever be a spare place in a time machine. As a qualified archaeologist he spends much of the time on digs looking up instead of down... taking photos of the local spitfires and buzzards (whilst trying to persuade his grandson that he really is Indiana Jones).
