Mistaken identity leads to the death of a John Dillinger look alike. That results in poltergeists wreaking havoc in Bruno's life. It is up to his niece Tilly to placate the poltergeists that reside in Bruno's home. To do that, she must return the things that Bruno took from archeological dig sites. Tilly enlists the help of her friends Melinda and Lonnie to help her get the artifacts back to their original owners. Tilly uses her knowledge of physical sciences to solve problems with everyday materials. The story itself takes place in the mid-twentieth century There are five parts to the book. The first four parts involve trips to different dates in ancient history. Part five contains science activities inspired by Tilly.
