Publisher's Synopsis
Not only are synthetic zeolites regarded useful in industry, where they are used primarily in catalysis, but scientists have long realized their suitability for the study of adsorption and equilibria, the nature of adsorption interaction, the mechanism and kinetics of catalytic reactions, molecular sieve effects and the diffusion of molecules in fine pores of controlled dimensions. Split into two volumes, this work aims to systemize the extensive experimental material on the synthesis and investigations of properties of zeolites.;Volume one uses previously unpublished material to examine the problem of the crystallization of zeolites and their structure and chemical modification. The second volume aims to systemize the considerable literature that has been written on zeolites and adsorption, and zeolite analysis in relation to the structural and chemical modification of zeolite crystals. Both volumes have also been published separately.
