Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Synopsis of the Books of the Bible, Vol. 2

This Second Volume of the Synopsis, with the exception of the Psalms, is reprinted from papers published in the Present Testimony, translated from the original French Edition. If the part which treats of the Psalms be excepted, nothing is changed, save occasionai passages with a View to greater clearness and exactitude. With regard to the Psalms, the inquiry into the nature of Christ's sufferings threw largely increased light on their interpretation into the mind of the writer. This he found it impossible to inter weave satisfactorily with the original article, and the whole has been re-written and an Intro ductory Part added. There is no substantial change of View, but he trusts that there will be found in What is now published, considerably.
