Publisher's Synopsis
It may be difficult for the general public to comprehend how a man who once had trouble getting movie roles went on to become one of Hollywood's most renowned actors. Sylvester Stallone, known as "the virility of Hollywood," made a name for himself in the entertainment industry by landing tiny roles and creating screenplays. The characters of "Rocky Balboa" and Vietnam War veteran "John Rambo" are two of his most recognizable roles to date. In the films "The Expendables" and "The Expendables 2," he worked alongside other notable actors from the business, like Jean-Claude Van Damme and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Stallone is a multi-talented human who work as an actor, writer, director, and producer. He is best known for his mangled speech patterns and lopsided smile, which have become his defining characteristics. Aside from the "Rocky" movies, he appeared in a number of other movies that were well reviewed by critics but did not have the same level of success on the box office as "Rocky" and "Rambo." By acting in a number of films in other genres, such as "Paradise Alley" and "Zookeeper," he tried to break away from the stereotypical "tough" roles and rekindle the interest of his fans. These films, however, fell short of their intended audience.
