Publisher's Synopsis
Swanage is a coastal village by the Jurassic Coastline in Dorset, was home to a number of Kindertransport children who were rescued from the hands of of the Nazi regime in 1938-9 and stayed in Swanage for the duration of WW2 and beyond. My books tells the stories of some of the children in their own words, like Alfred Batzdorf who came to Swanage through the Bournemouth Refugee Committee as did his borther Rick and parents before they left for USA in 1940. My book shares with the reader about Swanage teachers Trevor Chadwick and Geoff Phelps who went to Praugue to bring back two children and came back with three, two boys and girl. Trevor later returned and recused 669 Children from Prague and recently Swanage put up a statute of Trevor in the childrens play ground to remember their hero.
