Now, for the second edition, Michael Keighley and Norman Williams have completed the huge task of revising and updating their speciality defining work, to reflect thesubstantial changes in colorectal surgery which have occurred since the publication of the first edition.
As with the first edition, the authors have written the vast majority of the book themselves, maintaining the consistent style and personal approach which proved so popular. As before, however, they have sought outside contributions for specialised fields outside of their personal experience: in particular Steven Wexner has contributed all the laparoscopic sections, Susan Galandiuk provides a new chapter on injuries to the colon and rectum and Lester Gottesman conveys some of his vast experience on sexually transmitted disease.
