Tamar van den Dop directs this Dutch drama. Meis (Gaite Jansen), a teenaged girl who lives with her family in the middle of nowhere, is waiting for something to happen. With only her friend Sue (Elise van 't Laar) and her family members to keep her company during the summer, the only real sources of excitement for Meis are the ever-present threat of a car crashing through their roadside home or trips to a nearby unfinished bridge.
