Publisher's Synopsis
This book is a record of the presentation I did at two companies in South Africa, one in the services industry and the other in manufacturing industry. The success of the workshops as witnessed by results on the ground has inspired the sharing or publishing of this presentation to assist management of any other company to structure the delivery of messages to supercharge their employees especially after a long holiday breaks. Any company, in any business sector can customize this presentation and additionally create a few physical activities in between to cultivate interest and team work as well as to build internal relationships; a necessary foundation for mending all the broken bridges. Broken, or burnt, bridges mean broken trust among employees - which is a recipe for disaster in any business. Do away with that through creative team building activities. Employees tend start the year with a "hangover" and this takes part of the company's precious time that could have been used productively. Some come having forgotten everything including passwords. Some come with resentment to work, which causes serious and costly mistakes. Some just take long to crank into full gear; yet others would be thinking of jumping ship altogether. That is not healthy for the business. Many companies have been noticing this challenge but had no idea how to solve it. Some companies even factor that slow start into their budgets. How you open your year is very critical in terms of what you communicate to your employees and the mood or tone that you set going forward. It is insufficient to just say, "Hey guys welcome back from holidays, go to work" The leader has to impart the right amount of positivity and optimism in the workforce and living it themselves. It is about instilling healthy competition and building mutually beneficial internal relationships. It is about "ceding" control of the company to the employees. Employees must be proud of their company and love it. They must feel assured of job security and understand that this job security lies in their hands. They must know that they all have equal opportunities for success in the workplace and that the company is more than willing to create an environment where they excel and is ready to provide the necessary resources and tools. This carefully crafted presentation has all the ingredients to turn-on an idle workforce and supercharge it for the full year with positive contagious energy.ENJOY
