Publisher's Synopsis
Meet Marissa. Marissa spent every summer of her childhood away from her hometown with either her grandparents or her aunt. One summer, while staying with her aunt, she met Chad. Chad was her cousin's best friend, but he was much older than she was and the definition of bad boy. Marissa didn't see him for his past, but saw him as the person he could become. It didn't take long for her to become infatuated with the teenager. The following summer, they began dating, although they had to keep the relationship a secret from everyone except for a few select people. Chad's past criminal record, age, and the fact that he was a father would be more than enough for Marissa's family to keep her away from him. Marissa didn't care; she was in love. The couple didn't know what would happen when summer ended and Marissa had to go back home, but they didn't care. They were determined to make their relationship work. Chad's past mistakes kept coming back to haunt him. Can their relationship survive all the obstacles in their way? Can Chad overcome his past or will he repeat his history of drug use? Will Marissa give up?
