Publisher's Synopsis

In Viet Nam, the proportion of agricultural economic structure, livestock sector plays an important role after crop production in terms of production value and take 35% of the total value. Every year, besides raising cattle and poultry, the total herd of pigs fluctuates with a scale of approximately 30 million pigs. Livestock excrement is a valuable organic matter that is very rich in nutrients. Proper management and disposal of animal waste can limit pollution. When collected and effectively processed, it is a valuable source of organic fertilizer for agricultural production, to the development of the rural economy and new rural in Vietnam. Supporting for this treatment stage is a system of machines, equipment and technology for solid-liquid separation of waste, including suction pump, liquid-solid phase separator, submersible stirrer. In 2021, we have survey activities in Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa and Bac Giang province with interview activities 360 livestock households, and 06 authorities (local management agencies and specialized agencies) to find out the local livestock context. Vietnam academy for water resources (VAWR) has researched and improved the system of separation equipment (NTM-VTL21) with a capacity of presses from 3÷5m3/h to suit most small and medium-sized farms today. The process of separating solid and liquid phases from pig production waste helps to protect the environment and create added value for livestock farms. The waste source after separation will be the input material of organic fertilizer production lines in accordance with the regulation QCVN01-189:2019/BNNPTNT while reducing the time and cost of treating livestock waste.
