And to paraphrase Romans 12:2, "How can I learn to not imitate this world, but be transformed by the renewal of my mind, so that I may discern what is good, acceptable and the perfect will of God?" At this point in my spiritual understanding, I believe that, "The root cause of all suicidal fatalities and attempts is the false perception that an individual is separated from love!" I had become stuck in despair, like an upside-down turtle . . . and needed help to get turned right-side up and back in the flow of God's power of unconditional love. Why is suicide a societal blind-spot in America and beyond? My unique "Twelve Seasonal Lessons in Educating Your Heart" follows the centenarian research's four step approach on "How to Live to 100." The Prologue - My Story of Despair and God's Unconditional Love . . . describes my actual suicide attempt on December 10, 2009 and how God called a Good Samaritan to save my life. How did I miraculously go from deep despair . . . to extreme happiness ( and wanting to live to 100) . . . in one minute? Winter's Roots - Coming Homing to Love . . . is reconciling with my tribe. How do I find: a new partnership with God; my wife, children and grandchildren; and a new community? And how does spiritual counselling help me let go of my fear and false beliefs so that God can help educate my heart? Spring's Life - The Natural Flow of Love . . . includes to next step to live to 100 and that is to "eat wisely." Since I am on a feeding tube for the rest of my life, I am blessed with 2,500 calories of the right stuff every day. So my challenge now is to co-create a smart, daily diet of positive thoughts, beliefs and relationships. Summer's Light - The Effusion of Love . . . Living to 100, I must seek my passion. Therefore I must first learn how to unlearn, or let go of all of my lifelong self-defeating thinking habits. For me it involved finding that secret place, learning how to relax and trusting my intuitive awareness. Autumn's Splendor - Presence of Love . . . involves the final step, which is to "be active." For me that's letting go of the illusion of retirement, co-creating a better work/life balance with my wife and realizing that all religions have the same goal, which is "To bring people together." I must find my unique expression of God and trust the flow of His miraculous power. The Epilogue - Your Heart Knows What to Do. Getting through the major confusing transitions in life (from adolescence to young adulthood, through the mid-life crisis and into late adulthood) is the challenge. This is where the ugly suicidal vulnerabilities raise their head.
