This text is one of two volumes which offer a comparative analysis of the structures and impacts of some of the main study abroad programmes offered by universities in four European countries (UK, France, Federal Republic of Germany and Sweden) and in the USA. The project was co-ordinated by the European Institute of Education and Social Policy in Paris and was carried out by an international research team.;The study, launched in the mid-1980s, provides a comprehensive international analysis of study abroad programmes in terms of geographical coverage, the number of institutions and programmes analyzed and the numbers of students and graduates involved.
