Publisher's Synopsis
This book starts with a model of the strategic planning process itself which identifies the essential elements of a strategic planning process and is then used as an organizing framework for the models and analytical techniques. These methods are introduced through the vehicle of published papers. In selecting the topics to be included, a range of literature has been searched covering the general business area, strategic management and planning and management science and operational research. This results in a collection of articles covering techniques ranging from simple to complex and from soft to hard. A summary chapter indicates how the different models and techniques can support different parts of the strategic planning process.
