Publisher's Synopsis
The main subject of this dissertation is warehousing, with a focus on the stock location system. This system consists of the way in which products are located in the warehouse. The existing location systems are: random, fixed and memory. The ideal system for a company is one that reduces storage costs and adapts to the company's reality. In addition to the literature on the subject, a case study was carried out in a large agro-industrial company. This company has a large volume of stock and a mix of products. Its products are stored on pallets and drive-in storage structures are used in the warehouse. Firstly, the current location system used by the company was characterized. The second step was to identify the company's warehousing strategies. Finally, an analysis was carried out to see which of the location systems is the most suitable for the company, in order to achieve its goals and/or improve the current results of the warehousing process.
