Publisher's Synopsis
Gussie Fink-Nottle becomes engaged to Madeline Bassett, who in Bertie Wooster's eyes is the most predatory female in the country. She sets out to convert Gussie to her vegetarian ideals, and no amount of pleading or resisting on his part can change her mind. When he can stand no more he turns to his friend Bertram for advice, so Bertie sets off to Totleigh Towers, the Bassett home, where he narrowly escapes becoming engaged to Madeline himself! It is left to the steadfast and reassuring Jeeves to bring a satisfactory resolution to the chaos.
