Publisher's Synopsis

Collection of live shows from Steve Coogan. 'The Man Who Thinks He's It', from autumn 1998, features five of his comic creations. Pauline Calf performs her self-composed James Bond theme Shirley Bassey-style, while brother Paul attempts to woo a lady folk singer. Pop sensation Tony Ferrino sings 'Lap Dancing Lady', stand-up Duncan Thickett attempts to prove that it's a funny old world, while chat show supremo Alan Partridge also puts in an appearance. In 'Live 'n' Lewd' Coogan appears again in a variety of guises, including brother and sister Paul and Pauline. 'Knowing Me' co-star and 'Fast Show' luminary John Thomson acts as MC. In 'Steve Coogan As Alan Partridge and Other Less Successful Characters' Coogan takes to the stage for the first time in ten years to bring his characters, including Alan Partridge, Paul and Pauline Calf, Duncan Thickett and Tommy Saxondale, back to life. In 'Paul and Pauline Calf's Cheese and Ham Sandwich' novice stand-up Duncan Thickett welcomes back the chain-smoking Paul and his sister for a live performance. Pauline's had her hair done, her belly pierced and a misspelt chinese tattoo; while Paul has a new girlfriend and has souped-up his mum's disability buggy. There are also some surprises: Paul treats us to a love song while Pauline performs an excerpt from her one-woman show 'Floss - the Story of Florence Nightingdale'.
