Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Statistics of Phrenology: Being a Sketch of the Progress and Present State of That Science in the British Islands
IN publishing this sketch of the progress hitherto made by Phrenology, in public estimation, I am actuated by the hope of lending some small assist ance towards accelerating its future advances. The open adherents of the science have hitherto been like so many isolated individuals scattered throughout Britain, unaware of their own collective strength, and exerting little encouraging in?uence upon each.
