Before Earth put a stop to mankind's exploring the galaxy some rebels managed to escape into space in sleep ships. There's was a desperate attempt to find habitat worlds they could colonize away from the oppressive Pax dictatorship. Now hundreds of years later the Earthlings have a faster than light drive and are about to find these Free Men and an even grater alien menace.
