Stage F of a primary programme designed to improve the way children use, read and write non-fiction. Titles in the "Discovery World" series are graded to allow beginner readers a gradual introduction to non-fiction. As well as text grading, the features found in all non-fiction books (captions, charts, spread headings etc.) have been gradually introduced stage by stage. At each level there are seven titles which cover a broad selection of topics and subjects, including science, technology, maths, geography, history and art.;The text in stages E and F is designed for true reference use with simple scale diagrams, 3D cutaways, maps and flow charts introduced. The information is organised in different ways to provide models for children's own writing (eg. facts in a list form). There are also more sophisticated non-fiction features included, such as a prehistoric animal pronunciation guide.
