Publisher's Synopsis

The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA) is delighted to present the 2019 South Florida Cultural Consortium (SFCC) Exhibition and catalog.

The SFCC provides annual funding and exhibition space for artists in Miami-Dade, Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Monroe, and Martin Counties. It is one of the largest government-sponsored grant programs for artists in the United States. Hundreds of artists apply each year. This year's exhibition showcases the work of thirteen artists who live and work in South Florida.

MOCA congratulates SFCC's 2019 grant recipients: Nellie Appleby, Felecia Chizuko Carlisle, Domingo Castillo, Jen Clay, Reginald O'Neal, Edison Peñafiel, Sebastian Ruiz, Jamilah Sabur, Katrina Sarah, Vivien Segel, Misael Soto, Amber Tutwiler, and Agustina Woodgate.

The Museum is honored to showcase the work and diverse perspectives of these South Florida artists, and is grateful to Amy Galpin, Chief Curator of the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, who curated this dynamic exhibition.
