Publisher's Synopsis

"Ben J. Solomon" is the shortened pen name of Shlomo Riccardo BenYosef-Sacco Brought up in Milan, London and Israel, Shlomo is an anarchist, a poet, a mathematician, an activist. He writes mostly in English but with hints of Hebrew, Italian and Arabic. For any contact he can be emailed at [email protected]. Songs of rupture is a collection of the poems written in Israel by the author in 2015-2016. The poems deal with nostalgia, Jewishness, Israel and its panoramas and wars. Some poems are purely descriptive and personal to give a taste of what it is to live in a difficult land, without compromising however on the romanticism of its inhabitants and their love for the familiarity of its cities and suburbs. Other poems take a more direct approach in their critique of all conflicts and let a hope for change transpire through the lines. Others yet will tell you tales of daily life, loves and personal or family struggles of a people without a home.
