Publisher's Synopsis

"I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel." Philippians 1:12 A seed, when it is dark and covered in the dirt, must fear what is next. It wonders where it is, why it is there, and what its purpose is. But without the dirt, the seed cannot grow. The Lord can plant us in the dirt because of sins we have committed or simply for the discipline and growth of His Children. We worry about the future, whereas we cannot see anything but the next step. But without the dirt, the seed cannot grow. Tears supply the seed with much-needed saturation to its benefit. The seed will one day, one faithful day, break through the dirt into marvelous light, revealing little by little, grain by grain, the goodness of the Lord and the height of the plan of the Lord. Some of us cannot see the light of the Lord, since we are in the dirt. We cannot see the plans He has for us in the darkness. We are fearful and waiting to spring. But, without the dirt, we cannot grow. This is a poetry book of how suffering is used by the Lord, in order to bring even greater things, and to show His children His love for them. I spent a week in Pine Rest Inpatient Care in 2019 after my mental health had gotten too dark to bear, and after this experience I started to write poetry day and night as I was being taken care of by the Lord, and this book is full of those poems writing during a "dark night of the soul". It is my hope that these poems can serve you in your walk with Christ, or even in your walk towards Christ.
