This is a not a sermon book on how to preach, but rather a book of sermons from a cadre of preachers representing a cross section of generations that include: Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials. That was intentional as we endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. When preaching has been strong in the Christian church, the church has been strong, when preaching has been weak, the church has been weak. We need strong preaching and strong churches.In Somebody Must Come Preaching you will see that each preacher has his own unique style of sharing the Word. You will be fascinated, encouraged, and motivated as you read the genres of Narrative preaching, Topical preaching, Evangelistic preaching, and Textual preaching. I believe the interview section regarding "being sent" and "passing the baton" are necessary in our brotherhood. The "Introduction to Preaching," along with the articles on "Expository Preaching" and "Ministerial Transition" in an African American context, give a "tools-shed" perspective of the heavenly treasure entrusted to earthen vessels.
