The belding genealogy in this pamphlet is that of the direct line of descent from Richard Belding, the first settler of the family in America, to Noah Belding, of the fifth gen cration, and of some of his descendants. Esther Belding, granddaughter of Noah Belding, married Col. Joel Whitney, a descendant of the Puritan emigrant, John Whitney, and this genealogy has been compiled only to accompany Whitney genealogy-some of the Tribe of Benjamin.
