An electric sensation possesses me, against which I am powerless to defend. My body becomes instantly rigid, the respiration slows remarkably and the heartbeat assumes an unnatural rhythm, while my senses, intensified to an extraordinary degree, invert themselves and blend into a single and altered perception of mere being. The duration of the attacks varies from several seconds to several hours, during which time I am oblivious to the world and to all efforts at reviving me. And during these attacks, although independent of their relative duration, the visions arise. This book contains anecdotes and short stories, poems and lyrics to melodies that I composed.
