This is the second book in the series 'Soldier of Rome' We follow our eight man Contubernium as they leave Rome for Judea with Vespasian and once there they become embroiled in the Jewish rebellion that culminates in the siege of Jerusalem. Meanwhile war clouds are gathering in Rome itself and civil war soon breaks out as the year of the three Emperors begins and our Contubernium once again find themselves fighting for the legions, but this time it is a war like no other as it is Roman against Roman.
