Jed Stewart had a secret mission and it was his first job as both a lawyer and skilled gunfighter to build a case against some land-grabbers. This alone put his life in danger when he returned to Cheyenne, but, worse still, a pair of ranch-hands were seeking revenge. They drew on Jed, but were too slow.
