Sitting with Basho is a collection of English Haiku. These poems are inspired by the works of great Haiku Masters like Matsuo Basho, whose contributions to the art of concise poetry are of incalculable value. After several years studying the works of these great Haiku masters, it feels like any situation in life is an opportunity to view the world as the Master sees the world- almost like you are sitting with Basho himself. Although -Sitting with Basho- is primarily influenced by Japanese haiku, you will also find poems inspired by Ernest Hemingway, Edgar A. Poe, Wallace Stevens and other poets.
